Product Description
MIKIMOTO
Mikimoto
This is a vintage Mikimoto ring, likely from the 1950s or 60s, with a hand-carved-style engraving still visible.
The period of post-war recovery from the 1950s to the 1960s was when machine engraving technology was being introduced. Engravings from this era, while lacking the individuality of hand engraving, are not as precise as modern ones, possessing an intermediate characteristic.
The Akoya pearl is about 9.4mm, with a soft cream hue and an elegant luster. At the time this pearl was cultivated, it was grown over a longer period than modern pearls, resulting in a thicker nacre. Even after all these years, it still exhibits a moist, deep luster.
This item is from a period when Mikimoto was experiencing rapid growth, featuring a moon motif set with diamonds.
This is a pre-owned item, obtained through secondary distribution from a reputable jewelry store. It has been appraised, and sometimes sorted.
When delivered, it will be finished and made as beautiful as possible.
