Just back from overhaul, this is a solid gold Rolex Orchid watch.

The Orchid is a luxury line of watches released in the 1950s-60s as a dress line for ROLEX women's watches.

Orchid means "orchid flower," and it was apparently engraved as a mark for solid gold cases at the time of sale.

It features a simple, elegant, and beautiful dial, entirely in gold.

The dial is a rare sigma dial with a σ SWISS σ (sigma) mark below the 6 o'clock position.This marking is said to certify that gold material is used on the dial and other parts.

The movement is a Rolex manual-winding Cal.1400. It is renowned as a reliable movement with few malfunctions, the same movement found in the Chameleon.
