The vivid olive-green stone is a very beautiful peridot from Pakistan, which has been growing in popularity recently.

The Sapat Valley mine in Pakistan, said to produce the highest quality peridot, is located at an altitude of over 4,000 meters, making mining difficult and limiting its output.

Peridot is also known for its birefringence, where light entering the stone emerges as a double ray, and its oily luster is captivating.
Its high refractive index gives it a strong brilliance, emitting bright colors even in dimly lit places.

Peridot is a mineral formed in the upper mantle, the Earth's core, and is pushed up by tectonic shifts to reach the surface. While it is not a rare mineral in terms of overall production, good color and beautiful stones are scarce, and large, vivid gem-quality pieces are rare.
