Garnet is a gemstone with a wide variety of colors, and it was once believed that all colors except blue existed. However, blue garnets do exist, and these are the color-change garnets known as Bekily Blue.

The name comes from the Bekily mine in Madagascar, where it was discovered in the late 1990s. However, since it is not an official gemological name, it is not listed on appraisal reports.

Due to its color-changing effect, which is similar to alexandrite, it is sometimes referred to as "Alexandrite-type Garnet."

It has a beautiful teal blue color, but its distinctive feature is that when exposed to sunlight or strong light, a flickering red color can be seen from within the stone.
