Perpignan Garnet refers to a rare and beautiful garnet that was produced in the Perpignan region of southwestern France.
It is an extremely rare and depleted garnet, a gemstone said to be more valuable than a ruby of the same size.

The mines were depleted long ago, and garnets are no longer mined from them.
Even in France, it can only be found as an antique, a beautiful and truly legendary stone limited to French antique jewelry.

The colors of Perpignan garnets vary, from orange-red to deep crimson, but personally, I find this reddish-purple to be the most appealing.

Perpignan garnets are polished with a rose cut, and during stone setting, red-dyed silver or gold foil is laid beneath them in a closed setting to enhance their brilliance.

This is a rare clover design. Like the four-leaf clover, the three-leaf clover is a symbol of good luck. In England and France, particularly around the 19th century, many more three-leaf clover motifs were created than four-leaf clovers.

As it is over 150 years old, there are minor scratches.
