Garnets are gemstones that come in a wide variety of colors, and it was said that almost all colors except blue existed. However, blue garnets do exist, and these are the color-change garnets known as Bekily Blue.

It was named after being discovered in the Bekily mine in Madagascar in the late 1990s, but since it is not an official gemological name, it is not listed on appraisal reports.

Due to its color-changing effect similar to alexandrite, it is sometimes called "Alex-type Garnet."

It has a beautiful teal blue color, but its distinctive feature is that a shimmering red color can be seen from within the stone when exposed to sunlight or strong light.
