These earrings are made with nucleated freshwater pearls in a sakura (cherry blossom) pink color. They are not dyed; the color is natural.

Unlike regular freshwater pearls, nucleated freshwater pearls are cultivated by inserting a nucleus and mantle tissue, similar to Akoya pearls.

While Akoya pearls are cultivated underwater for 8 months or more, nucleated freshwater pearls are cultivated for 24 months or more. This longer cultivation period allows for a thicker nacre layer, resulting in deep luster and rich interference colors.

These are labor-intensive pearls, with only one pearl harvested from each mother shell.

They are also undyed, with a beautiful natural color.

These beautiful pearls possess the luster of Akoya pearls, the volume of South Sea pearls, and the unique colors of the Hyriopsis schlegelii shell. They challenge the perception of freshwater pearls being inferior to Akoya pearls due to their lower price.
