This is a large Dutch rose cut ring from the 19th century, likely made in the Netherlands.

As its name suggests, the Dutch rose cut originated in the Netherlands, but it can also be seen in antique jewelry from other countries like France, not just the Netherlands.

This cutting technique, which developed in the Netherlands in the mid-17th century, is thicker than a regular rose cut, and because it has more triangular facets than a regular rose cut, it reflects light more dynamically.

The setting is a closed, foil-backed setting with a silvery foil laid underneath.

Small, old rose cut diamonds are tightly set around the central diamond.

The central rose cut diamond is somewhat triangular, measuring 6.8mm x 7.2mm, which is quite large.
The bezel is silver, and the arm, upon inspection, was found to be approximately 10k gold.
