British Antique
Natural Sapphire
Natural Diamond
Five-stone Ring
This antique ring dates from the Victorian era (1837-1901), known as Britain's Golden Age.
Rings with gems arranged side-by-side, like this one, were popular for a long time, from the Georgian era through the Victorian era and into the turn of the century.
This is a beautiful ring with sapphires and old mine cut diamonds. Three sapphires are interspersed with two small, vertically set cushion-cut diamonds, all meticulously arranged.
The arabesque-patterned base, known as a scroll pattern, is also a characteristic craftsmanship of rings made during this period. I believe this ring is full of the charm typical of classical Victorian antiques.
