This ring is crafted using nucleated freshwater pearls in a hydrangea color. The color is natural lavender pink, not dyed.

Unlike typical freshwater pearls, nucleated freshwater pearls are cultured by inserting a nucleus and mantle tissue, similar to Akoya pearls.

While Akoya pearls are cultured in water for over 8 months, nucleated freshwater pearls are cultured for over 24 months. This longer cultivation period allows for a thicker nacre layer, resulting in a rich luster with depth and a wide range of interference colors.

These are very elaborate pearls, as only one pearl can be harvested from a single mother oyster.

Furthermore, they are undyed and untreated, possessing beautiful natural colors.

These beautiful pearls overturn the image of freshwater pearls being inferior to Akoya pearls due to their lower price. They possess the luster of Akoya pearls, the volume of South Sea pearls, and the unique coloration characteristic of freshwater mussels (Hyriopsis schlegelii).
